JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - Grief counselors are on hand Thursday for classmates of an 11-year-old boy struck and killed by a car in Jamestown, Wednesdsay night.
Police tell News 4, Quinn Ortiz, a fifth grader at Washington Middle School, was hit when he ran into traffic on North Main Street.
For Claudia Watson, the scene near her house was a grim reminder of what happened to her own child just 2 years ago.
Watson said, “I thought of my daughter, because she got hit in the same exact spot and she was 9-years-old, 86 pounds, broke her jaw. And when she got hit, I said the same thing, ‘They need to put a light.’ They don't stop, they speed, they don't pay attention.”
Police do not believe the driver was at fault and have not charged him.
