SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WIVB) - The head coach of Syracuse University Men's basketball has apologized for criticizing people who accuse his longtime assistant of abuse .
Three men including two former Syracuse ballboys accuse ex-coach Bernie Fine of sexually abusing them.
Head coach Jim Boeheim says his comments were insensitive to the overall issue of abuse and he still plans to move forward with his own campaign against child abuse.

Coach Jim Boeheim said, "What I said last week was out of loyalty. I reacted without thinking, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I'm trying to learn from my mistake."
Fine was fired last weekend.
He denies the allegations against him.
