BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - An Erie County Holding Center inmate has died, apparently after taking his own life.
According to a sheriff’s spokesperson, 54-year-old Edward Berezowksi, of Williamsville, was brought to the Holding Center last Saturday.
On Sunday, just minutes after being checked into a housing unit, a guard found him hanging by his jail-issued orange pants.
He was accused of grabbing an employee of an electronics store and choking a store manager. The sheriff’s office confirms Berezowski died on Friday.
