Initiative aims to keep cyclists safe

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police are on roadways Friday, doing a traffic initiative. They are focusing on motorcyclists who may be in violation of Vehicle and Traffic Laws. For example, they may not have a DOT approved helmet.

The initiative is really about awareness, making people aware of the hazards on the road.

Not only are they looking at cyclists, but vehicles to make sure people driving to see if they are paying attention to what they are doing.
