iPhone application for missing pets

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - When a beloved pet is missing it's a traumatic event for the whole family.

Now there's an iphone application to help track down lost cats and dogs and reunite them with their owners.

Paula Le Dobro has tried just about everything to find her two year old Pomeranian.

She even hired a private investigator.

Le Dobro said she has been, "Putting posters everywhere, asking all of my neighbors."

Her dog is still lost but Le Dobro found a high tech tool lending a paw in her search efforts, all on her I-phone.

"You can post a picture of your dog and have descriptions," added Le Dobro.

Gracie is one of the many lost pets listed on the App Home Again Pet Rescuers, the makers of animal micro-chips.

You start off with an alert area using zip codes or your current locations. This will help limit your listings to all the pets missing in your area. Then you can scroll through the list of missing pets or add your own microchip numbers and all. You can also map locations of where your pet was last seen.

Le Dobro said, "You just hope that if she is hurt or someone finds her that they'll give her back."
