NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - Hundreds of people started their weekend with a race in Niagara Falls.
The 14th Annual "Flexcare Jack O'Lantern Fall Classic 5K Race" stepped off Saturday morning from Goat Island at Niagara Falls State Park.
Proceeds go to benefit alcohol and substance abuse prevention and treatment services for young people.
President & CEO of Northpointe Consult said, "The race has been getting bigger every year and we've been generating more and more people so that helps a lot. With funding being cut from other sources, it is a generator of revenue for us."
An estimated 700-people laced up and took part in Saturday's 5K run.
