Kopp letter ties to Facebook lawsuit

Author asks for intervention in Ceglia lawsuit

BUFFALO, NY (AP) - A bizarre letter from someone claiming to be convicted abortion doctor killer James Charles Kopp has provided another twist in a New York man's ownership claims against Facebook.

The writer asks a judge in Buffalo for permission to intervene in Paul Ceglia's federal lawsuit while accusing Ceglia of a litany of personal slights, threats and crimes.

It arrived from the prison housing Kopp but hasn't been verified by the court. A public defender who represented Kopp says the strange contents don't sound like him. Kopp's serving life for the 1998 killing of Dr. Barnett Slepian in suburban Buffalo.

Lawyers have until Nov. 19 to respond to the request. Ceglia's lawyer couldn't be reached Thursday.

Ceglia's civil case took another odd turn last month when he was criminally charged with faking evidence for his lawsuit. He's pleaded not guilty.
