Kwanaza kicks off Wednedsay

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Happy Kwanza!

Today marks the beginning of the 7 day holiday that was started in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga.

It's based on 7 principles of African Culture.

Dr. Karenga is scheduled to speak later this week at the Buffalo Museum of Sciece.
