LeRoy, N.Y. - Several hundred parents attended a community meeting at LeRoy High School Saturday.
Many of the parents are angry with the school districts' response about the mysterious illness affecting more than a dozen students.
Just Friday, The New York State Health Department issued a report ruling out environmental or infectious causes behind the illnesses in LeRoy.
Instead, Dr. Laszlo Mechtler of the Dent Neurologic Institute, who is treating the patients, believes that the victims are suffering from Conversion Disorder.
LeRoy School District members hired Leader Professional Services, a highly regarded environmental, industrial hygiene, and safety consulting firm.
Leader was hired to assess the testing already performed at the high school and to make recommendations for further testing at the school.
The situation in LeRoy has caught national attention because 18 teens have been showing tic-like symptoms.
Tonight on News 4 at 6, we will have reaction from parents, LeRoy Superintendent Kim Cox and representatives from Leader Professional Services.
