OLEAN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A big undertaking at Saint Bonaventure University will make a huge difference in the Carribbean.

The student group "Bona Responds" joined community members to pack up meals for children affected by the Haiti earthquake.

By the end of the day, they expect to have put together enough meals to feed 100,000 kids.

Director Jim Mahara said, "We really are helping people. I can say with certainty that this will make the difference between somebody living and dying. I don't know who that person will be, but somebody will be living next year because of what we're doing today."

Mahara added, "To see everyone from five year olds to 70 year olds coming out to package these events that will be shipped to Haiti, I think it's just a wonderful thing."

Each of the meals costs only 19 cents to make and will be distributed in Haiti in the near future.
