AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - Loved ones gathered Monday morning, to remember the life of the founder of La Nova Pizzeria.

Eighty-nine-year-old Joseph Todaro was laid to rest Monday morning, after a mass at St. Gregory the Great Church, in Amherst.

Todaro founded the pizza shop in 1957, on Buffalo’s west side. Since then, it’s grown to be one of the largest independently-owned pizzerias in the United States.
