WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Family and friends of Alix Rice are asking western New Yorkers to help keep the teen's memory alive. They're inviting everyone to a "Walk to Remember Alix" this Saturday, one day before the anniversary of her death.

The walk will begin at 10 a.m. at Williamsville North High School on Hopkins Road.

Rice was struck and killed by Doctor James Corasanti last July while skateboarding along Heim Road.

The doctor was found guilty of common law DWI, a misdemeanor, but acquitted of manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.
