SCIO, N.Y. (WIVB) - An Allegany County man won $1,000,000 on a “$5,000,000 Multiplier” ticket October 10th.
The Scio resident, 48-year-old Jeffrey Ely, had walked half way to his car from the Scio Mini Mart when he decided to go back inside and buy a $20 ticket, with part of the $100 winnings he had just collected.
It was a lucky decision, because he turned out to be a $1,000,000 winner. He collected his payment as a $661,691.06 lump sum the next day.
With the money, Ely set up college funds for his children and invested in his future retirement.
