EDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A 20-year-old Derby man is in critical condition at ECMC after a Tuesday afternoon crash on Route 20.
Eden Police say 60-year-old James Kipfer, of Cowlesville, was driving a tractor trailer and ran the red light at Route 20 and South Creek. Police say Kipfer’s vehicle struck a Cavalier driven by Brett Farrell, who was entering the intersection from South Creek Road.
>> The crash closed a 3.3-mile stretch of the roadway for four hours Tuesday.
Emergency responders had to extricate Farrell from his vehicle and Mercy Flight transported him to ECMC. Police say Farrell is in the trauma intensive care unit at ECMC Wednesday, listed in critical condition.
The crash is under investigation. Police say charges are pending against Kipfer.
