Marineland shops for killer whale

NIAGARA FALLS, ONT. (WIVB) - Marineland is reportedly trying to acquire another killer whale.

The Toronto Star reports that the tourist attraction is looking for opportunities to purchase another killer whale to join Kiska, who is now all alone at Marineland.

The Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums has said that killer whales should be kept alone.  The issue was discussed during a recent inspection of Marineland by the industry association.

An investigation of Marineland was launched after the Star published as series in which 15 former trainers blamed sporadically poor water quality and short staffing for ill health and death among its animals.
