NIAGARA FALLS, ONT. (WIVB) - Marineland will now have outside agencies test the water in the park. The move follows a series of inspections done after critical reports by former employees ran in The Toronto Star.
The park will close for the season on Monday but two agencies the Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals - will make random spot checks on the facility.
An investigation is continuing on how Marineland ensures its animals have quality water.
The Canadian government is questioning whether there should be government regulations for captive marine animals.
