NIAGARA FALLS, ONT. (WIVB) - Animal specialists and officials from the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals were due to inspect Marineland Thursday morning.
The Niagara Falls Review reports that inspectors spent two hours and 40 minutes on site. They said they would give Marineland some time to rectify any problems discovered. However, they did not rule out the removal of some animals if necessary.
The attraction came under the spotlight more than a week ago when a series of photos and videos were released by former Marineland workers. An animal trainer with the park for a dozen years went public with his complaints about mistreatment of animals and unsafe water conditions.
