BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - It was a call to fight deadly violence in the Queen City, and a time to remember the young ones who became victims.

Stop the Violence and several local churches organized a public prayer memorial at Laurel and Jefferson.

The service was held in memory of all the Buffalo youth killed over the last 20 years.

Ira Scott of the Emmanuel Temple Seventh Day Adventist Church said, "I think this is very powerful. I think this is something that the community needs, to let them know that people on a daily basis are joining the fight to stop the violence."

Before the memorial service, hundreds of youth held a rally in honor of their fallen peers.
