Mother faces Leandra's Law charges

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Hamburg woman is facing a judge Tuesday, in a Leandra’s Law case.

In August, 48-year-old Ellen Adams allegedly drove her vehicle off an Orchard Park roadway and struck a mailbox before coming to a stop. Adams is charged with driving while ability impaired by hydrocodone, while her 14-year-old daughter was inside the vehicle.

Adams is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child. If convicted of the crimes, Adams could face a maximum sentence of four years behind bars.
