WILSON, N.Y. (WIVB) - A serious motorcycle crash happened at Route 93 and Burch Road, in the Town of Wilson, late Tuesday night.
The Niagara County Sheriff's Office says it appears 41-year-old Jody Barron of Youngstown failed to negotiate a curve, drove off the shoulder of the road, and struck a ditch. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies and emergency responders found Barron laying in a nearby cornfield on the side of the road.
He was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC and is listed in critical condition.
Based on witness accounts, sheriff's deputies are hunting for a second motorcyclist who authorities believe may have been with the victim at the time of the accident. He is described as approximately 6' tall, stocky build with a reddish-brown goatee. He fled the scene when witnesses called 911 for help.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call 438-3393.
