GETZVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - The mystery surrounding Amanda Wienckowski’s death has been followed for nearly three years. Tuesday afternoon, that mystery may finally be solved.

Back in January, Wienckowski’s mother Leslie Brill said, “We need to know the truth and my daughter didn't deserve this. Nobody does.”

Tuesday, the family hopes the second autopsy results will shed some truth in the death of their daughter.

“She’s looking at it objectively,” said Steven Cohen, the Wienckowski family attorney.

Wienckowski’s body was found upside down in a garbage tote, in the middle of winter on Spring Street in the City of Buffalo, and her death was originally ruled an accidental overdose.

Tuesday, results from the second autopsy performed by Dr. Silvia Comparini, a pathologist hired by the family, will be released.

Cohen said, "The family doesn't have an agenda here. We want answers and we haven't been given answers."

With the results, the family hopes to move on with their quest for answers.

Brill said,” I just pray that this doesn't happen to somebody else's loved one and there's nobody held accountable for this two years later, so these people are still on the streets.”
