EAST AURORA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The winds shook parts of western New York enough to shut down roads for almost the entire day, and even push a 737 airplane 70 feet into a fuel tanker.
Crews were out all day repairing downed power lines, fallen trees, and damaged homes.

Doug Hartmayer from the Buffalo Niagara Airport said even though they've seen planes move by the winds before, it's definitely uncommon for one to move so far.
The winds took out many large trees including one at Riverside High School leaving some kids a different form of entertainment, and others, a very big cleanup.
Heavy winds started a transformer on fire at the Hampton Inn in Cheektowaga where crews had to brave the cold and blistery winds to put it out.
Another major incident caused by the winds involved a minivan that was crushed by a tree while parked on Southpark Avenue.
Most residents on Center Street between Sweet Rd and Blakely in East Aurora spent the majority of their day without power starting at 5:30 Sunday morning.
Crews have been going since the early morning hours, and have just finished up for the day. They are ready for what Mother Nature might bring us next.
