BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - New York State Police are participating in the nationwide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over National Crackdown," from Friday through New Years Day. The campaign aims to prevent tragedies during the holiday season.
The massive effort consists of 30 sobriety checkpoints, 10 saturation details, 18 underage drinking details, sales to minors details and 41 additional dedicated local DWI patrols.
Last year during the holiday enforcement effort, troopers made 526 arrests for DWI, and issued a total of 35,496 tickets.
