BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) - WIVB-TV and CW23 WNLO today announce the launch of thnk b4 u txt (think before you text), a community awareness campaign that encourages drivers of all ages not to text while behind the wheel.
Thumb bands with the thnk b4 u txt message will be available for free at all three area Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina locations while supplies last. These bands should be worn as a reminder not to text while driving.

“As a father of five and uncle of several driving age young people, and a cell phone user and “texter” myself, I am concerned about the increasing incidents involving distracted drivers who don’t think before they text! I am very excited and hopeful that this thnk b4 u txt campaign will lead to smarter and safer drivers who put their cell phones and smart mobile devices down and leave them in the storage compartments until they get to their destinations,” said WIVB & CW23 President & General Manager Christopher Musial. “We hope the bands are a visual reminder for people to think before they text while they are driving. I invite “texters” and drivers of all ages to join with me and my family and thnk b4 u txt! If it prevents even just one accident, then we feel this campaign has been worth it.”
People of all ages are encouraged to visit thnkb4utxt.com to find out how they can join the movement to stop texting while driving. WIVB and CW23 WNLO’s community partners are Geico, Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina, Towne Auto BMW Mini,Gelber & O’Connell LLC Personal Injury Law and Medaille College.
Lin Media owns and operates both WIVB-TV and CW23 WNLO.
