LOS ANGELES, C.A. (WIVB) - Jamey Rodemeyer’s tragic story has received national attention, including the attention of Jamey’s idol Lady Gaga.  Jamey is the Williamsville teen who took his life in September after years of bullying.

Lady Gaga has been talking about Jamey Rodemeyer in her concerts.  Lady Gaga invited Jamey’s parents and sister to California, and News 4’s Jacquie Walker went with them.

The Rodemeyers attended a star-studded event for the Trevor Project, which offers a wide range of support services for teens struggling with their sexuality.

In true Hollywood style, it included red carpet arrivals. There were 14 performances at the event, and each star that attended the event was on stage at some point.

The concert ended with the Rodemeyers presenting an award to Lady Gaga from the Trevor Project for her support for teens who are lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender.. Lady Gaga in turn talked about how Jamey's suicide deeply affected her.
