NIAGARA FALLS, ONT. (WIVB) - You've probably heard of Toys for Tots - but how about Toys for Tickets?

The City of Niagara Falls, Ontario is launching a campaign to collect toys for needy children by collecting toys rather than fees for parking tickets.

The Niagara Falls Review reports that parking infractions issued until Dec. 4 can be paid with a toy donation or gift card.

Donations must be new and a minimum or greater value than the parking infraction.

Collections will take place between Dec. 5 and Dec. 7.  Project SHARE and Salvation Army will distribute the gifts to those in need, particularly children ages 12 to 15.

Even if you haven't been slapped iwth a parking fine lately, city staff will take toys and gift cards on behalf of the two participating charities.
