WASHINGTON D.C. (WIVB) - An historic painting of Niagara Falls will be take a prominent position at the Presidential Inauguration this Monday.
Senator Charles Schumer announced that a painting of the falls by Danish artist Ferdinand Richardt from 1956 will hang on the wall of the U.S. Capitol for the Inaugural Luncheon.
The artwork will be displayed in the National Statuary Hall where the luncheon is held immediately following the swearing in. Invited guests to lunch with the President include Vice President Biden, Senator and Mrs. Schumer and the Speaker of the House and Mrs. Boehner.
The painting is described by the Senator as the embodiment of this year’s Inaugural theme: “Faith in America’s Future”.
