BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Buffalo escalator has been tying up traffic at a busy metro station.
The broken escalator at the University Station is frustrating passengers. Friday, the NFTA Board voted to approve contractor DCB Elevator Company’s bid to rebuild the broken-down escalator.
The project should take four months to complete, but board members hope it will be finished before that for rider safety.
News 4 reported on the broken escalator last month, when an NFTA spokesman said there was no timetable to have the escalator repaired. At the time, the NFTA spokesman estimated rebuilding the moving parts could cost between $250,00 and $300,000.
