BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two Buffalo organizations came together to promote recycling and how to re-use.
SunnKing Electronics partnered with Green Options Buffalo for a recycling drive Saturday on the Buffalo Medical Campus. Every time someone brought in old electronics or a used bicycle, a donation would be made to Camp Good Days to help children touched by cancer. Of course it also helps keep the planet cleaner and greener.
"We just collect a lot of electronics to be recycled, collect a lot of bicycles for us to rebuild and give back to the community, get them out of the waste stream is a very important thing so people aren't throwing bikes and computers in landfills we actually have a place to put them, " says Henry Raess of Green Options Buffalo.
The donations to Camp Good Days are based on the weight of the electronics donated at events like this one. Last year over 125 tons of donations helped raise $8,000 for the organization.
