BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The race for the new 27th Congressional District is about as close as it can get between Congresswoman Kathy Hochul and her opponent, Erie County Executive Chris Collins.

There are still many undecided voters in the district, and both candidates spent their last day doing everything possible to sway votes their way.

Congressional Candidate Chris Collins says, "We're seeing a lot of good news on the absentee fronts. A lot more Republicans are returning their ballots than Democrats. We've got a voter advantage, we're leading in the poll. I think we have everything working in our favor."

Hochul says, "When elections are over, you just govern. If Mitt Romney's the president I work with him, if it's Obama I work with anyone who's there, and people know that about me. That's the real difference in the candidates in this election, I'm willing to roll up my sleeves and work with the Republican side of the isle and move the country forward and stop the fighting."

The New York Times listed the Collins vs. Hochul battle as one of the 10 most exciting races to watch in the nation.
