NIAGARA FALLS, ONT. (WIVB) - Casinos in Niagara Falls, Ontario have offered buyouts to all 92 slot attendants. That includes workers at both Casino Niagara and Niagara Fallsview Casino.
Workers have until Tuesday, Feb. 5 to decide whether they will take the buyout.
Niagara Casino management stresses that all the buyouts are voluntary but staffing needs have fallen.
The buyout package includes three weeks of every year of service up to 26 weeks and a $1,500 ‘retraining’ allowance.
The Falls casinos employ more than 4,000 people in full and part-time jobs.
The buyouts come during the same week it was announced valet service at Casino Niagara was terminated and during the time Casino Niagara was closed for a day due to renovations to the building’s electrical system.
