NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - Some veterans in need received a helping hand in Niagara Falls Sunday afternoon.
Churches, companies, and other groups have been collecting coats, hats, and gloves for Operation Warmth for Military Veterans.
The group distributed the clothing to the vets making their winter a little warmer.
Donations for the project also came from other U.S. Military communities including Fort Benning, Georgia, and Mountain Home, Arkansas.
John Cooper Jr., the Event Co-Organizer says, "The need is great. They served our country, and they didn't ask any questions when they were asked to go into combat and risk their lives for us. The least we can do is give them a coat to stay warm."
Operation Warmth collected a total of about 400 pieces of clothing for homeless veterans, including more than 200 coats.
