Pets killed in Akron house fire

AKRON, N.Y. (WIVB) - An investigation is underway on a fire that broke out in an Akron home on Eckerson Road Saturday afternoon.
The fire reportedly started in the laundry room and spread into the kitchen.
We were told there was one person inside at the time of the fire but they made it out safely after hearing the smoke detector.
Reportedly 2 cats and one dog died.
The fire left nearly $200,000 in damages. The cause remains unknown and is being looked into.
