HOLLAND, NY (WIVB) - Holland High School may finally score a football team by combining programs with East Aurora.
The Holland School District was considered too small to fund a team and East Aurora has been coping with declining enrollment. The combination of neighboring schools could be the best of both worlds for the two districts.
The athletic directors at each district have been meeting since December to discuss options and costs associated with a merger program
The East Aurora Advertiser reports that paperwork has been filed with the Erie County Interscholastic Conference and Section VI to merge to form a single team. Both must approve the proposed football merger and the two school boards must also give their stamp of approval.
The East Aurora School Board is expected to discuss the plan Wednesday.
