LEROY, N.Y. (WIVB) - LeRoy Police say they are investigating the death of a five-month-old baby, after responding to a call on Main Street Saturday night.
Police were called to a report of an unconscious woman and an infant not breathing at 5:13 p.m. Saturday. According to police, the responding officer found a woman who was having a medical issue and CPR being performed on the infant. The officer assisted with the CPR until an ambulance arrived.
The five month old was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. Police say they are investigating, and have not ruled out natural causes or accidental death.
A preliminary autopsy failed to determine the infant's cause of death. Further tests are being conducted.
