GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a Grand Island burglar. The sheriff’s office is looking for a suspect in multiple burglaries, since May.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his early twenties, with dark hair that is "well groomed." Items taken in the burglaries include scrap metal, jewelry, antiques and a brass plaque made from remnants taken from the remains of the USS Maine, a battleship that was sunk in 1898 and served as a catalyst for the Spanish-American War.
The included photo is of the rare plaque.
