BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - It’s no secret St. Patrick’s Day is a big drinking day in Buffalo and law enforcers will be on alert, looking for drunk drivers. You can expect to see increased police patrols through western New York this weekend.

To keep drunk drivers off the road, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with Liberty Cab and several Buffalo bars to help everyone get home safely. Friday night through Monday at noon, partiers can get a free taxi ride home with a voucher from participating bars downtown.
