DUNKIRK, N.Y. (WIVB) - Friends and family of Miguel "Mikey" Gonzalez say they've received a lot of support since News 4's original story aired last week about a Dunkirk man who had become the target of bullies. Mikey has told News 4 that he's been bullied just once since then.
Mikey has Tourette syndrome and can't help hitting himself when others agitate him. Some people have made YouTube videos driving around Dunkirk making cat noises at Mikey and laughing when he starts hitting himself.
The Dunkirk police chief said those videos warrant charges.
"We'll probably approach it from the harassment, stalking course of conduct. Following him around, and that kind of law violation," Chief David Ortolano said. "Once I saw the full video, the full three and a half minutes of them following him around town, quite frankly it made me sick to my stomach."
The two men who made the YouTube video were identified last week by News 4 as Ryan Hudson and Matt Colon.
News 4 is continuing to investigate this case and will have more details as they develop.
