KENMORE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Kenmore Police are reminding everyone to take precautions to keep holiday thieves from targeting you.
Tips include locking doors and windows, keeping valuables out of sight in your car while you're shopping, and never giving out credit card information out loud to a cashier.
Det. David Lewandowski said, "This time of the year usually people become prey because people are looking for easy targets. So it's not exclusive to Kenmore. It's throughout the whole WNY area, people are just going into cars, mall parking lots and helping themselves to whatever is open for them to take."
Police remind you that if you see any suspicious people or vehicles in your neighborhood, call your local police or 911.
