BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A developer who has become a familiar name around town has big plans for North Buffalo. Rocco Termini wants to transform the Elmwood Avenue area, starting at Grote Street down to Hertel Avenue.
>> Termini also made plans to revamp the nearby old FWS building into a mixed-use project
Tuesday morning, he proposed a series of incentives to the Erie County Industrial Development Agency. The project includes turning a former machine shop on Grote Street into lofts.
President of Signature Development Rocco Termini said, "We're trying to develop a walk-able, sustainable community there. We think that is a great area that has been overlooked for many years."
Termini said, "We would like to see it landscaped, walkways, bike paths, and make this a really live-able community."
Termini hopes to break ground on the Houk Lofts by April, and have the $6 million project completed by November. Work on the former FWS building will begin in late summer.
