PUCCS Charity Hockey Tournament

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Buffalo Sabres alumni participated in the second annual PUCCS Charity Hockey Tournament in Cheektowaga today to help researchers better understand and prevent concussions for young athletes.

The event held at the Holiday Twin Rinks featured basket raffles and three autographed jerseys up for auction.

The winners of today's tournament went head to head with Sabres alumni.

Michael Answeeney, the Vice President of PUCCS Program says, "I would like to see every youth group get involved in this so that we can at leats reduce the amount of serious brain injuries that there in this sport."

Last  year's event raised more than 100-thousand for childhood concussions  and stroke research.
