BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The condition of a 16-week-old puppy named Phoenix, who was found burned earlier this week , is improving. The Buffalo Small Animal Hospital says Phoenix’s eyes look better and he is eating and drinking more.

The animal hospital says the community has been extremely generous, and they have more than enough money to cover his medical expenses. The extra donations they have will be used for the next animal in need, according to the animal hospital.
The hospital still can’t say if Phoenix will make a full recovery.
Authorities believe someone sprayed the Jack Russell Terrier with lighter fluid before setting it on fire.
