CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) - With Thanksgiving around the corner people are starting to prepare for the holiday feast.
Radio station, Jack FM helped out folks with the most important piece Saturday, the turkey.
The station started the coalition to save Thanksgiving because they felt that everyone was in a rush to get into the Christmas spirit and were forgetting about Thanksgiving.
They gave away free turkeys to the first 50 people that showed up Saturday at the Eastern Hills Mall.
Joe Russo of 92.9 Jack FM said, "We had the first guy show up at 8 in the morning. I know its tough times so everyone wanted a turkey. Cars are still lining up we had to turn some people away, we feel bad about that. We are trying to get something for everyone here today."
This was the second year for the Turkey Giveaway and has been one of their most popular events.
