PENDLETON, N.Y. (WIVB) - The community came together Saturday afternoon to help rebuild the Lake View Animal Sanctuary in Pendleton that caught fire back in September.
A benefit was held at the 5 Senses Nature Park in Wheatfield today where there was live music, a basket auction, and a petting zoo.
Money raised will help pay for a new barn and temporary shelter for the animals.
Lake View Animal Sanctuary Board Member Jim Costanzo says, " The community has come out in droves. It's just small donations, which we do appreciate them, but we just need a lot more of them. You can see all of the baskets we have here, and we're very appreciative to all the individuals as well as the businesses that have donated for them."
Donations for the sanctuary are accepted at any Key Bank branch.
Volunteers are also needed to help clean up and rebuild the structure.
