BUFFALO, NY (AP) -  Workers replacing utility lines on one of the University at Buffalo's campuses have uncovered the remains of about 100 more people who were buried more than a century ago in a cemetery for the poor.

Buffalo media outlets report that the crews found the skeletal remains of about 50 people, plus traces of wooden coffins, during work conducted in March at UB's South Campus in Buffalo.

The Buffalo News reports another 100 or so sets were found a few days ago.

Archaeologists have been brought in to remove the remains and transfer them to Buffalo's Forest Lawn Cemetery for reburial.

Officials say the remains were found on the former site of the Erie County Almshouse and Poor Farm, which closed in 1909.
