NIAGARA FALLS, ONT. (WIVB) - The Toronto Star is reporting former staffers at Marineland are saying that animals at the attraction are neglected and suffering from poor water conditions.
The newspaper talked to eight former employees who describe fur loss, blindness and skin damage on many of the creatures. They cite murky water conditions, a shortage of trainers that means animals don’t get the attention they need, and grimy concrete pools with poor lighting.
You can read the Toronto Star report here.
Marineland managers are denying the accusations.
A former trainer claims that he quit the amusement attraction after 12 years because he felt helpless to help the animals.
