BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A tow truck driver is dead, shot while dropping off a vehicle on Buffalo's East Side.
Buffalo Police have identified the victim as 25-year old Corddaryl Henley. Authorities were called to what at first appeared to be an accident after the tow truck slammed into the porch of a home near Walden and Sweet Avenues, around 1:40 Saturday afternoon.
Homicide detectives believe the victim tried to drive away, after the shooting. He appears to have struck a fire hydrant and two other vehicles, before his tow truck crashed up against the porch of the home at 75 Walden Avenue.
Henley was dead by the time police arrived. A spokesman for Rural-Metro Ambulance tells News 4 one other person was taken from the scene to ECMC. That person's condition was not immediately available.
An autopsy will be performed to determine an exact cause of death.
Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call or text the Confidential TIPCALL Line at 847-2255.
