Restaurants offer freebies to Veterans

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Many restaurants are offering free meals to veterans and active duty military on Sunday and Monday. Several of the participating restaurants can be found in western New York.

Also, on Veterans Day, the Buffalo Zoo will be offering their "High Five for the Military" discount. Members and retirees of the US military will be allowed to enter the zoo for $1 with proper military I.D. In addition, their group of up to four guests will be admitted to the zoo for just $1 each.

1. Applebees: Free Applebees Signature Entree on November 11.

2. California Pizza Kitchen: Free pizza and drink on November 11 and 12.

3. Champps Americana Restaurant: Free Cheeseburger and Fries on November 12.

4. Friendly's: Free Breakfast and Coffee on November 12.

5. Golden Corral: Free dinner between 4pm - 9pm. on November 12.

6. Hooters: 10 free boneless wings with the purchase of a drink on November 12.

7. Ikea: Eat for Free November 10-12 with purchase over $100.

8. Olive Garden: Free entree on November 11.

9. On the Border: Free Entree Certificate valid up to $10, any day of the week, 11/12-11/30. 15% of the Purchase will be donated to Carry the Load.

10. Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin Onion appetizer and drink on November 11and November 12.

11. Sizzler: Free Lunch on November 12. Choose from 6 oz. steak, Malibu Chicken, or Half Dozen Fried Shrimp.

12. UNO: Free entree or individual pizza with an entree or pizza of equal or greater value on November 11 and November 12.

13. Dunkin' Donuts: Free medium hot or iced coffee and a free donut, as well as a 10 percent discount for veterans at Erie and Niagara County locations.
