BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Retailers are looking for holiday helpers and the hiring season is looking bright. If anyone wants a little extra cash during the holiday season, you’re in luck. Major retailers are already in the spirit for holiday hiring.
Friday at the Walden Galleria, there is a job fair from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will be held on the lower level by Sears. Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes, and dress to impress.
Nationally Toys R Us plans on adding 45,000 holiday workers. Kohl’s is looking to add more than 52,000, that’s a ten percent increase from last year. Target plans to add between 80,000 and 90,000 seasonal positions. That number is slightly lower than last year because the retail giant has hired more permanent workers.
Experts suggest that those looking for holiday employment to start researching early. Applications begin piling up between now and Halloween.
Another suggestion from experts is to apply at stores you frequent as a customer, that way you will have some knowledge of the store and their products that can set you apart from the pack.
