ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - When a Rochester Police officer flagged a car down for speeding and swerving, he didn't expect to soon become a hero.
Officer Willo Glynn was in the middle of giving a sobriety test when he saw the car coming. He motioned for the driver to stop.
When he walked up to the car, he saw a back seat passenger giving birth. Dominique Salters was about to become a mother for the third time. The driver, who is the father, didn't know what to do.
Officer Glynn recounted, "At that point, I jumped into the front seat, and the father just looks at me. He had a deer in the headlines look. I said, 'Don't worry, we'll get through.' I said, 'You got to breathe.' She takes a deep breath. I said, 'Push!' First push, the baby comes right out. The father catches the baby, but it's still not breathing."
With a quick pat on the back from her father, little Leila began breathing. The baby's parents say they are grateful they saw Officer Glynn on their way to the hospital.
